SAN ANGELO, TX – According to SAPD, two San Angelo teens were caught on camera attempting to burglarize a local sporting goods store Thursday night.
At approximately 9:30 p.m. the owner of Field and Streams Sporting Goods was monitoring the store’s security cameras when he noticed two male suspects attempting to break into his store.
Officers were called to the scene, but the suspects fled when they arrived. The pair was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit by the officers. The juveniles cannot be identified due to their age, but SAPD confirmed they were both 16 years old.
The juvenile suspects were transported to the Department's Criminal Investigations Division to be interviewed. They were then charged with Burglary of a Building/Attempted Burglary of Building and Evading Arrest Detention. Both have been booked into the Tom Green County Juvenile Justice Center.
Field and Streams is a well-known gun store in San Angelo. They reported record sales this month.

Since the Corona Virus dominates the news cycle and all of us are holed up waiting for this plague to pass, perhaps we need to conduct an online trial ended by a firing squad featuring the guilty teens. Joe Hyde and Mayor Gunter could moderate the trial with commentary and Yantis Green could pose as Prosecutor and Judge. The City could sell permits to the prospective executioners who would furnish their own firearms and ammunition. The executioners would have to get to the execution site without getting near each other and would have to wait until Yantis tells them to fire.
This Trial and execution would break the national news cycle and San Angelo would gain international acclaim.

PermalinkThat was a rollercoaster of a post. Imagine how much easier carrying out an order of execution would be when you don't see the man's face...

PermalinkWell it looks like some folks don't like creative government and while my online trial doesn't seem to be gaining the level of public support I would have hoped, it sure has created a stir. What if I relinquished the demmand for the firing squad and substituted stoneing the lads with toilet paper rolls that would be auctioned off to support the local Police Department? The city could still gain the national spotlight, right?
