Body Found Outside Truck Stop on I-20 Could Be Missing Man

 

MIDLAND, TX – A group of people who were riding ATV's Sunday came across something out of the ordinary, a body. 

According to CBS 7, on Sunday,Feb.9, deputies with the Midland County Sheriff's Office were dispatched near the Pilot Truck Stop on I-20 for the report of a possible dead person. 

When they arrived, the deputies spoke with the people riding four wheelers who took them to the site where the body was found. 

The body was then taken to Tarrant County for an autopsy but the identity has not been confirmed at this time. 

Midland County Sheriff Richard Gillette told CBS 7 that he believes it's the body of Hamil Cody Ross, who's been missing for three months. 

The Sheriff continued by dismissing social media rumors that claimed Ross had been buried or badly burned and that children found him in Terrell County.

The Midland County Sheriff will continue to investigate and more information will be provided once made available.
