MIDLAND, TX – After months of searching for a suspect who had shot a man in the back at Kiwanis Park back in September of 2019, authorities have finally arrested a suspect.
According to CBS7, 19-year-old Andres Lee Schuman has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
On September 5, Midland Police officers responded to the park after receiving a call about a victim who had been shot. At the scene they found the victim lying on the ground with two gunshot wounds to his back.
The victim survived the gunshot wounds and was taken to the hospital to be treated. At that time police stated they believed the shooting was drug-related. During their investigation officers learned that the suspect had run away through an alley before driving away.
