Police: Suspect Kidnapped & Assaulted Woman on Christmas Eve

ABILENE, TX – John Michael Wilkinson, of Big Spring, has been accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a woman after transporting her to Abilene against her will.

According to KTXS, police say Wilkinson, 34, parked at Hendrick Medical Center on Christmas Eve night and sexually assaulted the victim in the parking lot.

On Christmas Day police responded to a 7-Eleven on I-20 and West Lake Road after a victim left a note behind claiming she was being held against her will. As police were investigating the note, they received a call about a woman being held against her will at the Best Western Abilene Inn & Suites.

By the time police arrived at the motel they were able to observe Wilkinson leaving with a woman so they conducted a traffic stop. The victim told police that she had asked Wilkinson to pick her up from the Walmart in Big Spring on Christmas Eve. She alleges Wilkinson took her to his house and when she asked him to take her home, he got on I-20 and drove in the direction of Abilene.

She alleges she asked Wilkinson to let her get out of the car multiple times, but he refused. Once they arrived in Abilene, she was able to leave the note at the 7-Eleven.

After leaving the note, she was taken to multiple locations but was not allowed to leave the car or use her phone. She told police that Wilkinson had allegedly asked her for sex several times, but that she had refused. She stated that she had been assaulted in the past and was afraid of getting hurt if she struggled, so did not attempt to stop the assault.

After the assault, she asked Wilkinson to drop her off, but he refused.

Wilkinson was booked into the Taylor County Jail and his bond was set at $100,000.
