ODESSA, TX – Kevin Lee Roberts has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole after he fatally stabbed Ashley Williams in December of 2017.
According to CBS7, on December 12th, 2017 police began to investigate the initial disappearance of Williams that was reported by her boyfriend, Kevin Ramirez.
Ramirez became suspicious after Williams failed to pick him up from work in the afternoon and once he returned home, he found the apartment ransacked and missing valuables. Upon noticing a trail of blood, he contacted police who began the search for Williams.
Williams had last been seen driving a 2016 Chevrolet Impala. DPS officers later located the vehicle near Weatherford with an unknown driver.
The driver was identified as Roberts, who after being interviewed by the Texas Rangers admitted he had stabbed and killed Williams. He alleged he had placed her body in a duffel bag and disposed of her body in a dumpster. Police located the body where Roberts had claimed to have left Williams.
