ODESSA, TX-- (Odessa PD Press Release) An arrest has been made in connection to a murder that occurred yesterday at the Quail Run Apartments. Kevin Lee Roberts, 22, has been charged with Murder “1st Degree Felony” and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle “State Jail Felony”.
On December 12, at approximately 5:40 pm, Odessa Police responded to 5335 North Grandview in reference to a missing person. The complainant reported that his girlfriend, identified as Ashley Williams, 21, was last seen at approximately noon and that she was operating his 2016 Chevrolet Impala.
The Department of Public Safety located the listed vehicle at approximately 8:30 pm near Weatherford, Texas. The driver of the listed vehicle, identified as Roberts, was interviewed by the Texas Rangers and admitted to stabbing and killing Ashley Williams.
Roberts also advised that he concealed Williams inside of a large duffle bag and disposed of her body in a dumpster near 8th and Meadow. Odessa Police responded to 8th and Meadow and located a body inside of a dumpster. The decedent will be sent to Tarrant County for an autopsy.
Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, OPD detectives obtained warrants for Roberts, who was charged and arrested accordingly. The Odessa Police Department would like to thank the Weatherford Police Department, the Department of Public Safety and the Texas Rangers for their assistance with this investigation.
The investigation is ongoing.
