ODESSA, TX -- A man was charged with continuous family violence after he allegedly punched, kicked, ran over with a car, and hit his ex-wife in the head with a golf ball on Monday.
The charge was continuous due to multiple assaults. Last April, 48-year-old Juan Carlos Luna had offered to pick up his ex-wife and give her a ride home after he had seen her walking home.
She accepted the ride, but when she got in the truck Luna threatened to beat her up and leave her for dead. She then informed him that she had an app on her phone that would track her location, which scared Luna into taking her to her mother's home. When they arrived at a house Luna pushed her out of the car, punched and kicked her multiple times, then got back in his vehicle and backed up over her legs.
The second assault happened on November 2018. It was a verbal dispute between the two when Luna became enraged and started punching her in the face.
According to CBS 7, Luna's ex-wife then called the police. When Luna had learned about her calling the police, he grabbed a golf ball and threw it at her, hitting her just under her eye.
Luna was charged, arrested and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center. He had one bond totaling $25,000 and was still in custody as of Thursday afternoon.
