Abilene Police Looking for Suspect in Aggravated Assault

Abilene police are investigating into a drug related incident that led to a 64-year-old man being shot twice late Wednesday night.

Police told KTXS they are continuing to look for the suspect in the shooting that occurred in the 1100 blk of Plaza Street.

Police spokesmen Rick Tomlin told KTXS the call was received just after 11 p.m.  He said a young female reported her father was arguing with another male at their home.

“She ran out of her and her father’s home to a neighbor’s house to call 911,” Tomlin said.

Tomlin told KTXS the father was the homeowner and he was “shot twice in the extremities- arm and leg, once each.”

In addition, Tomlin told KTXS “the father stabbed the other male who had come to his house (the male who shot him).”

KTXS reported the father was taken to the hospital via ambulance, and the suspect was injured and fled the scene.

“We are still looking for him,” Tomlin said. “… We’re working it as an aggravated assault – and it is an active case.”
