Midland PD Searches For Man Who Impersonated Police Officer/ Inappropriately Touched Woman

 

MIDLAND, TX - Yesterday afternoon, a man impersonating a Midland Police Officer conducted a fake traffic stop and inappropriately touched a woman during a pat down.

According to a local news source, the man identified himself as Officer Perez and made the female driver step out of the vehicle after she informed him she had a concealed hand gun license.

He was described as a white male with a dark complexion approximately 30 to 40 years old. He is approximately 5-foot-11 and has a skinny build. There is also a 2-inch scar on his right cheekbone. He had black medium-length hair parted to one side.

The suspect wore a uniform shirt with patches on the shoulders and a badge on his chest. He was also traveling in a black four-door sedan.

Anyone who has information is encouraged to contact the Midland Police Department immediately at (432) 685-7108. Citizens who feel unsure about the authenticity of an officer's status, call 911 and ask dispatch to verify the officer’s credentials, or ask to see credentials.
