SAN ANGELO, TX – Yesterday afternoon, local FBI agents and Tom Green County Sheriff Office deputies arrested a Virginia man at the San Angelo Regional Airport for an outstanding stalking warrant out of McCulloch County.
McCulloch County Sheriff Ty Tully said 55-year-old Christopher Paul Harman was arrested without incident in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
“He’s from Virginia,” said Sheriff Tully. “This has been an ongoing investigation for a couple of weeks for us. It was brought to our attention.”
Sheriff Tully explained that Harman has been stalking an ex-girlfriend who lives in Brady using technology.
“It’s an internet case,” he said.
Sheriff Tully also said the investigation is ongoing, so he could not release details on how long Harman has been stalking the Brady woman.
However, because of the type of stalking taking place, and Harman living out of state, the judge set Harman’s bond higher, the Sheriff said.
He added that Harman was not attempting to flee Texas, but was rather coming into Texas through San Angelo from Virginia.
“We had him on a watch list with the FBI,” Tully stated. “He got through the first watch list, and we were actually just called to do a check yesterday and found out he was at DFW on his way to San Angelo.”
Sheriff Tully said his office called TGCSO for assistance in this arrest, and deputies out of his office will be picking Harman up from the Tom Green County Jail and transporting him to McCulloch County in the next few days.
At this time, the investigation is ongoing, so no other details can be released.
