One Teen and Three Adults Arrested for Stolen Property and Drugs in Big Spring

 

BIG SPRING, TX – Yesterday afternoon, at approximately 12:53 p.m., the Big Spring Police Department and Howard County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team executed a search warrant at a home located at 1302 Sycamore where they arrested four subjects inside the home and found various firearms, bags of cocaine and marijuana, as well as stolen property.

The BSPD and SWAT Team initiated the search warrant as a result of a then ongoing investigation conducted by the Narcotics Division of the Big Spring Police Department. As the two teams approached the house, 19-year-old Christopher Rios attempted to flee the scene but was quickly apprehended by surrounding officers. Sabrina Hernandez, 18, Luz Juarez Delosantos ,17, and Juan Enrique Lara, 22, were all detained on the scene.

According to a press release from the BSPD, dated December 13, the Big Spring Police Department’s Narcotics and Criminal Investigations Division searched the property where they found one vehicle containing two Glock semi-automatic pistols, one Bersa .380 semi-automatic pistol, and three assault rifles: one AR-15, one AR-10, and one AK-47. Within the residence, officers found numerous Ziploc bags containing small amounts of crack cocaine packaged and ready to sell. Officers also found a small amount of marijuana and a Kenwood radio transceiver, which is suspected of being stolen during a recent burglary of a city vehicle.

Officers have further identified that two of the six firearms found were stolen from Coleman, Texas, and are currently working to determine the origins of the other firearms.

A BSPD’s press release stated that Christopher Rios was arrested and charged with a Motion to Revoke Probation warrant, Theft of Property warrant, Driving While License Invalid warrant, four counts of Failure to Appear warrants, No Driver’s License warrant, Defective Stop Lamps warrant and for Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, a Felony 2 offense.

Sabrina Hernandez was arrested and charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, a Felony 2 offense, and Luz Juarez was arrested and charged with a No Driver’s License warrant, Expired Registration warrant, three counts of Fail to Appear warrants, a Failed to Control Speed warrant and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, a Felony 2 offense.

Furthermore, Juan Enrique Lara was arrested and charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, a Felony 2 offense, and for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, a Felony 3 offense.
