Arrests: Woman Assaults Officer and Man Attempts to Evade Police

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – In the past 24 hours, local law enforcement arrested and booked 16 people into the Tom Green County Jail, including Selena Harwell, 43, and Carlos Alberto Trujillo, 27.

Officer Tracy Gonzalez, public information officer for the San Angelo Police Department, said, at around 7:54 pm. yesterday, police were dispatched to the 5800 block of Berkley Road for the report of an assault.

“During the investigation, Harwell repeatedly kicked a responding officer’s legs,” said Gonzalez.

Harwell was released today at 3:28 p.m. on a $492 bond. She also has $246 in court costs. According to jail records, this is Harwell’s third arrest in Tom Green County for assault.

In the case of Trujillo, Officer Gonzalez said the San Angelo man was arrested for Evading Arrest Detention with a Vehicle or Watercraft at around 7:11 p.m. yesterday, after officers determined he was the suspect who fled a traffic stop earlier in the day.

Gonzalez said, “A short pursuit ensued, but Trujillo was not immediately located. He was located in the evening at his residence due to follow-up investigation by patrol officers. Trujillo also received a citation for speeding.”

This is Trujillo’s 9th arrest in TGC. Some of those crimes were traffic related as well. Trujillo was released this morning at 10:58 a.m. on a $7,500 bond.

Also released on bond today was Steve Skinner, who was arrested on Nov. 28 at 6:40 p.m. for sexual assault and indecency with a child sexual contact. He was released at 2:13 p.m. today on a $150,000 bond (see our stories here and here).

Overall, out of the 16 arrestees, six people had outstanding warrants, nine had new complaints, and one person was arrested for a new crime and an outstanding warrant.
