SAN ANGELO, TX - Just before 9:30 p.m., San Angelo Police responded to a shooting at 19 West Avenue O. One individual was shot in the shoulder.
Police arrived on scene and provided medical assistance to the victim. Police said the victim is about 30 years old.
Initially, officers were dispatched for a stabbing victim, but that call was later changed to a shooting, according to a San Angelo Police Officer.
Police on scene said the victim does live in the area where the shooting took place. The victim told police he was approached by a male suspect and was hit with a pistol. The same suspect shot the victim in the shoulder.
The victim's truck was "taken" after the shooting, police reported. At this time, no names can be provided for the victim or any suspect(s) involved.
Police could not locate a weapon, but did say there was a little blood at the crime scene. Shell casings and the bullet that struck the victim were located one house down from where the shooting took place, San Angelo Police reported.
Police added that the injuries are non-life threatening, and the victim was transported to Shannon by ambulance. Police said the victim has been able to communicate with them throughout the investigation.
Detectives with SAPD Crime Scene Investigations will continue to investigate the scene.
