Three Men Indicted for Sex Crimes: Two Against Children, One Against Woman in San Angelo

SAN ANGELO, TX – A grand jury met for one day this month, on Oct. 5, and indicted 57 people. Included in this month’s indictments are Scott Andrew Maike, Kelly Turner, and Manuel Ezra White, who were arrested for sex crimes in Tom Green County.

Maike, 34, faces three felonies, two of which are Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child, both first degree felonies, and one Indecency w/Child by Contact, a second degree felony.

According to the indictment, on or about June 25, 2016, Maike sexually assaulted a child younger than 14.

Court documents revealed that the 13-year-old victim, on that day, went to Maike’s house in the 3400 block of Green Meadow Drive to watch a movie. While watching the movie, Maike proceeded to assault the victim.

A sexual assault kit indicated intercourse did take place.

Maike’s bonds total $150,000, and this is his first arrest in Tom Green County.

As for Turner, 35, he was indicted for Possession with Intent to Promote Child Pornography, which took place on or about July 6, 2016. For that initial story, visit here.

According to the complaint in this case, Turner “intentionally and knowingly” possessed, with the intent to promote, visual material (modified, uploaded, and shared with a third party) that visually depicted children engaging in sexual conduct.

“On July 11, 2016, Sgt. Andrew Alwine, with the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office, was asked to follow up on an emailed tip pertaining to this case. The tip was made by a man from San Antonio, Texas.

The man, Zachary Yarnes, said Turner sent him the images in order to sway his opinion on a fellow group member. Yarnes said the images were of the fellow group member engaged in a video chat.

“Yarnes stated the images had another image transposed into the larger one in the top right corner,” said the complaint. “Yarnes stated the image was of a female child, younger than 18 years of age, engaged in sexual conduct.”

Yarnes provided Sgt. Alwine with the images.

The images showed a white male engaging in sexual acts with a nude female child approximately 10 – 14 years of age.

On Aug. 1, 2016, Sgt. Alwine and Sgt. William Fiveash met with Turner at the Sheriff’s Office, where Turner gave his consent to a search of his computer hard drive.

Turner admitted to possessing, downloading and distributing video and image files depicting children younger than 18 engaging in sexual acts.

Sgt. Alwine viewed numerous images depicting children, including videos of an adult man sexually assaulting a child with her face turned towards the camera; and he found another video that showed a bound boy, approximately 11 years old, being sexually assaulted by multiple men, noted the complaint.

Turner even possessed images of children younger than four years of age engaging in sexual conduct, all accessed through sharing mediums online.

“[Turner] stated the numerous storage devices he possessed may contain up to one million image files and thousands of video files depicting children younger than 18 years of age engaging in sexual conduct,” read the complaint.

For his actions, Turner faces a second degree felony, and his bond is set at $30,000. This is also Turner’s first arrest in Tom Green County.

In White’s case, the 30-year-old man faces Sexual Assault of a female victim on or about Aug. 11, 2016, a second degree felony.

The filed complaint explained how San Angelo Police Officer Keith Lane was dispatched to Shannon Medical Center on Aug. 12 in reference to a possible sexual assault. The victim told Officer Lane she “had been physically forced by [White] to have sexual intercourse with him on the morning of Aug. 11.

The assault occurred at her residence. The victim told the officer White grabbed her hair and physically restrained her, then proceeded to sexually assault her.

White confirmed he did have “sexual intercourse” with the victim, and advised that he should have stopped when the victim told him to, but he did not.

“The Defendant admitted to having non-consensual sexual intercourse with the victim,” said the complaint.

As with the previous defendants, this is White’s first offense in Tom Green County. His bond is set at $30,000.
