Man Flees Police After Being Questioned About Stealing Ice Cream at Lowe’s

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — Last night just before 10 p.m., an off-duty San Angelo police officer working uniformed security at Lowe’s Grocery Store attempted to detain a man suspected of stealing ice cream.

According to San Angelo police, the man fled the N. Bryant Ave. store when the off-duty cop attempted to detain him. What ensued was a manhunt for the suspect.

The suspect was later apprehended. He was found hiding underneath an RV in the 100 block of 20th St, police said.

The suspect, Christopher Allan Sheets, 29, was booked into the Tom Green County Jail on charges of evading arrest or detention and theft. This was his third arrest for evading police this year (the first time, charges were dropped), according to jail records. Yet, he was released on a Personal Recognizance Bond, according to jail records.

Police also arrested a few suspects for drug use and intoxication yesterday. In one incident last night, police were dispatched to the 4200 block of N. Armstrong in investigate a report of drug use. There, they found Terry Lynn Barron, 33, and took him into custody for a parole violation. A 27-year-old woman, Michelle Rae Reddick was also arrested there for driving while intoxicated.
