San Angelo Man Arrested for Aggravated Assault at Motel 6

 

​SAN ANGELO, TX - Mikel Connor, age 20, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon following an incident at the Motel 6 located at 311 N. Bryant Blvd. Wednesday night, said San Angelo Police.

Officer Tracy Gonzalez, public information officer, said police were dispatched to the motel just before 9:00 p.m. for the report of an unknown problem. While en route, officers learned two males had been engaged in a physical altercation inside a room before one man, later identified as Connor, left the room and ran to a nearby business. 

"Police arrived and located Connor in the Starbuck’s parking lot at 403 W. 3rd Street," said Officer Gonzalez. "Connor was detained and transported to Police Headquarters where he was interviewed by Detective C. Kolbe." 

Officers located the victim, Connor’s 22-year-old brother, at the hotel. His injuries were minor and he did not require medical attention, noted Gonzalez.  

"Subsequent to the investigation, detectives learned Connor and his brother were in a verbal argument which turned physical," she said. "According to the victim and a female witness, Connor grabbed a screwdriver during the altercation and caused injury to his brother."    

Connor was transported to the Tom Green County Jail without incident.

Including Connor, 39 people made their way to the TGCJ since our last update. Out of those arrests, 23 people had outstanding warrants, 11 had new complaints, three had both new complaints and warrants, and two people were classified as N/A. This includes Terry Smith, 51, who was arrested for Assault by Contact Police Officer.

Officer Gonzalez said Smith, at around 2:36 p.m. yesterday afternoon, police responded to the 3100 block of Executive Drive for the report of an assault. During the investigation, Smith bit an officer.

  • Manufacture Delivery of Controlled Substance: 1
  • Possession of Marijuana: 2
  • Possession/Delivery of Drug Paraphernalia: 1
  • Assault Causes Bodily Injury: 1
  • Assault Class C: 2
  • Criminal Trespass: 2
  • Public Intoxication: 3
  • Driving While License Invalid: 1
  • Unlawful Carrying of Weapon: 1
  • Theft of Property: 2
  • Unlawful Use of Criminal Instrument: 1
