WATCH: Crash on North Bryant Shuts Down Intersection

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — A major crash took out a pole and shut down the intersection at North Bryant Boulevard and 23rd Street on Monday afternoon.

The crash occurred about 2:45 p.m. at North Bryant Boulevard and 23rd Street. Scanner reports indicated that a man was trapped inside his vehicle, but he was able to exit without the help of first responders.

The driver of the other vehicle, an 85-year-old man, had a laceration on his arm from the crash. There was also a separate crash, which caused a shutdown of the intersection.

According to San Angelo police, a white Chevy SUV was traveling northbound on North Bryant Boulevard, and a white Honda Ridgeline was heading east on 23rd Street. The Honda disregarded the red light and was struck by the white SUV.

There were two occupants, one in each vehicle and one man refused medical treatment. The man from the SUV was transported to the hospital.

The roadway was shut down due to the accident. Also, the traffic lights are not damaged, but a pedestrian sign was hit in the crash.

The driver of the Honda will receive a citation for disregarding the red light.
