Driver Killed After Truck Falls Into Creek on I-20

 

EASTLAND COUNTY — A 37-year-old Garland man died Monday night after his pickup veered off Interstate 20 and crashed into a creek, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

DPS officials stated that Cameron Bernard Murray was driving a 2024 Ford F-350 towing a 2024 RawMaxx tilt deck semi-trailer eastbound on I-20, about 2.6 miles east of Ranger when he veered off the north side of the roadway. The truck struck a guardrail and a concrete bridge barrier before falling into Russel Creek.

Murray was transported to Eastland Memorial ER, where he was pronounced deceased just before 1 a.m. Monday. DPS noted that he was wearing a seatbelt.

The crash happened around 10:30 p.m. Monday under clear weather and dry road conditions. The posted speed limit in the area is 75 mph.

DPS is investigating the crash.
