When I was young I was as wild as a rutting buck. There was almost nothing I wouldn't do or try and I've done a lot of bad things. The same could be said for the people I hung out with. However, if any of us ever accidentally hurt an innocent person we would do our best to make it right. The thought of running over someone then leaving them to suffer or even die was well, unthinkable. This type of story has become very common. Who teaches these young people to behave this way... their parents?

Why would the answer be "parents" and not "mass media, and friends influenced by mass media"? Or for that matter, Woke teachers pushing a Western cultural revolution that mandates the elimination of the older, whiter generations?

I have two sons that are now grown but certainly young enough to have been exposed to all the things you mentioned in school and college as well as with friends and the workplace. Either of them doing something so dark and so irresponsible would not happen. That's why I questioned the parents.

Not everyone is, or even can be, as active a parent as some would hope. The culture is designed that way, and in lieu of 2 parents in stalwart opposition to that influence...

Idk man, I don't see how you can blame the parents, she's 19 and knows that it's a human life, and knows right from wrong, she made the decision to flee the scene, not her parents 🤷

She's an adult and should be treated so.

She was drunk and to scared to stop, most likely due to her parents/friends telling her better to leave the scene than be found DUI.

Law should be written that if you leave the scene then you will be charged DUI/murder no matter what.

Agreed, especially since law enforcement has physical photo evidence that she and a friend were drinking before she murdered him with her car. I'd go one step further and arrest the person guilty of providing alcohol to a minor and charge them with involuntary manslaughter as well. People will learn if you prosecute all parties involved and stop putting them on PROBATION.
