San Angelo Police Searching for Suspect in Fatal Hit-and-Run

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – San Angelo Police are searching for a 19-year-old suspect involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash. 

This happened around midnight on August 4, when San Angelo Public Safety Communications received a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian in the 3100 block of North Chadbourne Street.

Responding officers found a 53-year-old man with severe injuries. The victim, struck by a white 2000 Mercury Sable traveling at high speed, was pronounced deceased. 

The suspect vehicle was located abandoned a short distance from the scene. Authorities have identified Andrea Mendoza, 19, as the suspect and issued a warrant for her arrest on charges of Collision Involving Death, a second-degree felony.

San Angelo Police Department’s CID, Traffic Division, CSI, and Drone Unit are actively investigating.

They urge anyone with information about Mendoza’s whereabouts to contact SAPD Dispatch at 325-657-4315 or Crime Stoppers at 325-658-HELP (4357).
