Chrysler 300 Downs Highway Sign in Spectacular Collision on Bryant

SAN ANGELO, TX— The driver of a gray Chrysler 300 did not yield the right-of-way to oncoming traffic and ended up being rushed to the hospital following a major crash on S. Bryant Blvd just before noontime today.

According to the San Angelo Police Department, a woman driving a gray Chrysler 300 was southbound on S. Bryant and attempting to turn left at W. Avenue L. Police said witnesses told them the signal was flashing a yellow arrow, meaning the motorist turning left must yield to oncoming, northbound traffic.

Meanwhile, northbound was a driver of a gray Jeep Cherokee. When the driver of the Chrysler 300 turned, she did not yield to the northbound Cherokee and the two vehicles collided.

The force of the collision sent the Chrysler 300 careening into the highway sign that had sat unmolested for years in front of Santa Fe Furniture. The sign was knocked halfway down.

The Chrysler 300 driver was rushed to Shannon complaining of injuries, likely from airbag deployment. In absentia, police cited her for failure to yield the right-of-way. The two occupants of the Jeep Cherokee were checked out at the scene by EMTs and did not require additional health care.
