Multiple 18-Wheelers Involved in Deadly Collision, TX 158 Shutdown

 

GARDEN CITY, TX — A severe crash involving multiple 18-wheelers has led to the closure of TX 158. The critical route that links Midland to Garden City and beyond, including San Angelo, has been shut down for approximately five hours. Authorities have informed the public to anticipate extended closures into the late hours of the evening.

The collision, which involved three truck tractors each towing a semi-trailer, occurred on TX 158 near the juncture with TX 137. Initial reports from the scene confirm there have been fatalities.

Currently, all traffic along TX 158 has come to a standstill, with vehicles being rerouted towards Big Spring, according to firsthand accounts from witnesses at the location. Officials have advised drivers to plan for the highway to be inaccessible possibly beyond 7 p.m. this evening.
