DPS Identifies Victim in Fatal Crash

 

ODESSA, TX – The Department of Public Safety has identified the victim killed in an 18-wheeler crash last week near Odessa. The 18-wheeler was hauling crude oil.

According to CBS7, 28-year-old Richard Dale Preston was traveling southbound in FM 866 in a Ford F-150 pick up behind the 18-wheeler, when the 18-wheeler slowed down to turn onto a private road. According to DPS, Preston tried to avoid hitting the vehicle and crashed into the side. After the crash, both vehicles caught on fire.

When troopers responded to the scene at approximately 1:50 a.m., they found Preston dead at the scene.
