Missing Ivie Reservoir Man Found Dead

 

UPDATED 7/10/13 9:40 p.m.   Texas Game Wardens and Sheriff's Deputies have found the body of a missing Lake Ivie boater who reported missing by the Lake Ivie Volunteer Fire Department earlier today.  

According to KTXS, 65-year-old Benny Henderson's body was found about half a mile from the Concho Park Marina.  He apparently drowned after crashing his boat.  

Henderson and his wife had just moved to Lake Ivie from Midland a few months ago and he was a valued member of the Volunteer Fire Department there.  

 

PAINT ROCK, TX-- A man has reportedly gone missing after crashing his boat on a fishing trip at the O.H. Ivie Reservoir.

The Lake Ivie Volunteer Fire Department posted about the incident on their Facebook page just after 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

In the post, they said the unidentified man had gone out fishing and didn't return home last night. The man's boat was found after it crashed. A search with the Sheriff, Game Wardens and drones ensued.

The statement by the VFD stated the man "may have wandered out onto an island on the lake," before asking for prayers.
