Cisco Woman Air Lifted After Multiple Rattlesnake Bites

CISCO, TX-- A Cisco woman is recovering from multiple rattlesnake bites after being bitten on both feet on Wednesday, KTXS reports.

Pam Duncan, a Cisco ISD nurse, was attacked by the rattlesnake around 7:30 a.m. while cleaning out wasp nests at her house, according to her daughter.

Duncan reportedly felt pain in her feet and initially thought she got stung by a couple of wasps. It wasn’t until she looked down and saw the snake that Duncan realized she had been bitten by the snake twice on one foot and another time on her other foot.

Duncan was transported to Hendrick Medical Center by helicopter where she was placed in the Intensive Care Unit and is in fair condition.

The little ones are out by the droves. Getting bitten has become something that will bankrupt anyone without iron-clad insurance. Cro-fab, the anti-venin used for rattlers costs over $5000 per dose, and a single bite can require 20 or more doses. Add the ridiculously inflated helicopter ride and if uninsured, she'll owe close to $200,000.
It's far better to watch for them, but those 6 -8" ones are hard to see on anything besides smooth surfaces.

I sure hope our pet Road runners and cats find the rattlers before we do.

Life in west Texas , we have to deal with rattlesnakes. I kill every one I see, watching these lefties let one go on tv makes me cringe.
