At 6:30 p.m., a Ram 1500 T-boned a Toyota Tundra on San Angelo’s north side. All three occupants of the two trucks were injured. Both pickups were badly damaged.
According to San Angelo police, a white Ram 1500 was cruising northbound on Martin Luther King Blvd. and ran a stop sign at the intersection of W. 14th St. Meanwhile, a beige or gold Toyota Tundra was headed east on 14th, crossing the intersection just in time to be rammed on the starboard side, right in the passenger door.
The force of the impact sent the Ram into a spin, into a Frontier telecommunications pole that fell, and into the sign for a payday loan business. The payday loan sign now leans very noticeably.
Meanwhile, the Tundra, who after all was just minding its own business before the force of the collision sent it reeling into a fence.
Blood could be seen on the driver of the Ram as he was whisked away by San Angelo EMS paramedics to Shannon. There was a passenger of the Tundra where the impact happened. He too was rushed to Shannon. The driver of the Tundra called his wife, who drove him to the hospital to get checked out, police said.
Police issued a citation to the driver of the Ram for disregarding a stop sign.
