Another Sonora Resident Dies in Vehicle Crash Near Ozona

Another tragedy befell a Sonora resident early this morning after a one-vehicle crash on CR 301, about 18 miles northwest of Ozona in Crockett County, said a DPS press release Monday evening.

According to the release, Billy Yosten, 44, of Sonora was traveling on CR 301 at 1:14 a.m. in a 2007 International truck tractor towing a semi-trailer. He entered a curve to the left on the roadway and ran off the right side. He then went into a side skid, which caused him to lose control. At that point, Yosten’s vehicle rolled over one time ejecting him from it. Yosten was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.

DPS stated Yosten was pronounced dead by Buren Whitten Pa-C, and next of kin have been notified.

Trooper Nancy Mata with Highway Patrol in Ozona is the investigator in this incident, and Trooper Rob Reagan, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement in Sonora, is the assisting officer.

DPS said a preliminary crash report will be available for purchase online in 10 days at https://cris.dot.state.tx.us/public….
