Upon arrival, officers located a deceased female who appears to be in her 20s, Police spokeswoman Officer Tracy Gonzalez said. Police have not identified the victim. Police are sending the body to autopsy. CID, CSI, and traffic investigators responded to investigate the discovery.

Across the roadway and around the location of the body, investigators have marked the scene. Traffic was blocked on the access road and will remain closed for several hours as the investigation continues

Justice of the Peace J.P. McGuire was called to the scene to formally pronounce the victim dead.

Police are investigating the incident as a hit-and-run fatality crash, however police said they cannot confirm that is what happened. Police do not have any vehicle information, or suspect information. There is damage along the guardrail, but police cannot confirm the damage was from this incident. “We have crashes here all the time,” Gonzalez said.
