BRONTE, TX — The sole occupant of a pickup truck was killed early Friday in a two-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck on U.S. Highway 277 about 7 miles north of Bronte in Coke County.
The Coke County Sheriff’s Office said the crash occurred at about 12:40 a.m. Friday, July 17, 2026. The pickup truck driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Responding agencies included the Coke County Sheriff’s Office, West Coke County EMS, the Bronte Volunteer Fire Department, the Robert Lee Volunteer Fire Department, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and TxDOT.
The sheriff’s office extended its deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased and thanked first responders for their professionalism and dedication. No additional information is being released out of respect for the family.
