Drug Charges Top Monday Jail Bookings

Nineteen inmates were booked into the county jail on Monday, with two counts of marijuana possession and four counts of possession of a controlled substance between them. 

One person was jailed for DWI and another for resisting arrest, while two were booked for theft and assault. 

In addition, Roy Chavarria Jr. was booked into the county jail for aggravated assault causes serious bodily injury, a charge stemming from the Nov. 26 stabbing of Jaime Zuniga at Fiddlestrings Sports Bar.

Twenty-five inmates were released on Monday.
