SAN ANGELO, TX – The National Weather Service reported that San Angelo experienced its coolest morning since May 31, with temperatures dropping to a brisk 65 degrees at the San Angelo Regional Airport.
Despite the cooler start, afternoon highs are expected to reach into the upper 80s to mid-90s across the region, according to the NWS. The forecast for Tuesday includes increased chances of showers and thunderstorms, with isolated and scattered storms predicted across much of West Central Texas.

Potential hazards include dangerous lightning, strong gusty winds, and locally heavy rainfall. Winds will remain moderate, coming from the east to southeast at 5 to 15 mph.
Looking ahead to Labor Day weekend, temperatures are predicted to remain slightly cooler than last week, with highs ranging from the upper 80s to mid-90s. Minimum temperatures are expected to stay in the upper 60s to low 70s, providing continued relief from the summer heat.

The NWS also highlighted daily chances of precipitation throughout the week and into the Labor Day weekend. San Angelo can expect a 45-60% chance of rain from Wednesday through Monday, potentially impacting outdoor plans for the holiday weekend.
