MIAMI, FL — One of the NFL’s premiere wide receivers just signed a new deal. The Dolphins and wide receiver Jaylen Waddle have agreed to a contract extension worth $84.75 million that will make him one of the highest-paid receivers in the NFL.
First reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Waddle’s new $84.75 million contract will be a three-year deal with $76 million guaranteed. Waddle will be paid an average of $28.25 million a year in a contract that ranks him fourth-highest among wide receivers and third-highest in guaranteed money.
In February, Dolphins general manager Chris Grier said that Miami had no intention of trading Waddle, and the proof is here. This contract extension comes on the heels of Houston Texans wideout Nico Collins also putting pen to paper on a new deal. Collins recently signed a three-year $72.5 million contract to lock in what is quickly becoming one of the most potentially dangerous offenses in the leagues.

And then there’s Dallas. It's an offense with a quarterback in the last year of his contract, no true no. 1 runningback, and a top-5 receiver with no deal. The Cowboys’ CeeDee Lamb recently missed voluntary OTA’s as he seeks a new deal. Lamb commands a high price tag after finishing his best season in the NFL yet in 2023-2024.
Lamb led the league in catches (135), finished second behind Tyreek Hill in yards (1749), and trailed Hill and the Bucs’ Mike Evans in touchdowns by one (12). Overall, his performance was far and away great enough for Lamb to receive All-Pro status.
Expect Lamb to become the highest-paid receiver in the NFL whenever Dallas finally decides to work out a deal.
