Texans Sign Playmaking Wide Receiver to Extension

HOUSTON— The Houston Texans have resigned a playmaker for quarterback C.J. Stroud.

Houston resigned wide receiver Nico Collins on a three-year, $72.5 million contract that could max out at $75, and has $52 million guaranteed. Collins was drafted in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Texans and had a breakout season last year where he caught 80 passes for 1,297 yards for eight touchdowns.

This signing further strengthens the Texans at receiver where they already had Tank Dell, who enjoyed a good rookie season with 47 catches for 709 yards and seven touchdowns, and they also traded for All-Pro Stefon Diggs.

Stroud will have plenty of weapons to throw to including tight end Dalton Schultz and running backs Joe Mixon and Dameon Pierce.
