ABILENE — A Taylor County mother and daughter were arrested for animal cruelty after failing to take care of another family’s pets.
Christina Lindsey and her daughter, Lindsi Wallis, have been arrested and charged with six counts of animal cruelty after they were hired to take care of another family’s pets and failed to do so. According to documents, the two were supposed to make two visits to the house a day to tend to two dogs, a cat, and a fish. In exchange for taking care of the animals, Lindsey and Wallis were to be paid $200.
The family that hired the two returned from vacation and found one of the dogs dead and the other unable to move or stand up. Wallis allegedly admitted to leaving the dogs outside on a chain overnight and one of them was dead when she came back. Temperatures in Taylor County during this time hit the 100 degree mark.
Home security footage showed that Lindsey and Wallis only came to the house once a day for several days then stopped altogether from July 13 through July 15th. The mother and daughter were supposed to start taking care of the animals on July 8th.
The family noted that when they came home, there was feces, vomit, and urine all over the floor and there was no food or water for the animals for three days.
Both Lindsey and Wallis have been charged with six counts of animal cruelty.
