SAN ANGELO, TX — A man was hospitalized after being shot multiple times late Friday in San Angelo, the police said.

San Angelo Police officers responded to the 1000 block of North Jackson Street on Aug. 8 for a report of a shooting victim at about 11 p.m. Officers found a man with multiple gunshot wounds and later determined the shooting occurred in the 1000 block of North Monroe Street.

Preliminary investigation indicates the incident began as an argument between acquaintances at a local bar. Police said the injured man allegedly attempted to assault another man with both a knife and a firearm. The second man then shot him, causing the injuries.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing. Police believe the incident was isolated.
