Commissioner: Restrooms in Popular County Park Closed Permanently

 

WATER VALLEY – Tom Green County Pct. 3 Commissioner Rick Bacon said Thursday morning the restrooms at Harper Park in Water Valley are being closed permanently.  

Bacon posted on social media Thursday morning: 'EFFECTIVE TODAY August 10,2023 the restrooms at Harper Park are permanently Closed and scheduled for demolition. A porta-potty will be placed as soon as arrangements can be made for placement. Hopefully funds will allow us to build a new permanent restroom in the future.'

If I had known these were there, I would have gone out to use them before something like this happened. Sad to see them go.

Folks, when you're driving through town and feel the urge to drop a hefty bale, before you stop at a gas station consider your local park restroom. We often don't know what we've got until it's gone, and when we don't use our local amenities we're apt to lose them...
