Both Drivers Hospitalized After High Speed Collision on South Bryant

Two drivers went to the hospital today after a high-speed collision on South Bryant. The crash happened just before 4 pm. Saturday afternoon.

A southbound white compact four-door passenger car was turning left off of South Bryant and onto W. Avenue W, police said. The driver didn’t see the northbound gold Japanese-manufactured Toyota Camry.  The Camry was traveling at or near the speed limit, 55 mph. Police are still investigating, but it appeared that the white sedan did not yield to the Camry.

The impact caused the Camry to careen into a stop sign. The white sedan spun across the opposite lanes of traffic and across W. Ave V and into the yard of a residence.

Drivers of both vehicles had minor injuries and were taken to the hospital via ambulance.

San Angelo police are continuing their investigation at the hospital, where they will interview both victims.

Police did not indicate there were passengers in either car.

Aren't at least some of the Toyota Camrys manufactured in the USA? That would throw another spin into the story.

Just curious to why you single out the 'Japanese' cars in all your stories? I mean you never say the 'German' cars or the 'American' cars. It's like this in all your stories. Most people I talk with that view Live! seem to think your hitting out on the 'Japanese' cars. How about some consistency?
Sal, It has been a running joke on here for some time now to point out when there is a Japanese car involved in the crash. Much like I am sure that there was some oil field guy involved in this wreck too.
