Two Brothers Lead Police on High-Speed Chase through North San Angelo

Reaching speeds up to 75 mph, police chased two brothers in a red compact four-door sedan fleeing a traffic stop at 37th Street and Chadbourne Street. Police said the eight-minute chase meandered throughout the north side of San Angelo.

The fleeing suspects were two brothers. The driver, 28-year-old Luis Serrano had eight warrants. His brother was the passenger, 17-year-old Miguel Serrano. The younger brother also had an unspecified number of outstanding warrants.

Police said that approximately four minutes into the car chase, the driver’s side front tire severed from the rim of the suspects’ car's wheel. The fleeing suspects eventually led police down S. Bryant under Loop 306, and then down Harris and Pecos Street. After turning north on North Van Buren, Serrano hit a curb, disabling the vehicle and then both fled on foot.

Police quickly caught the brothers running through the neighborhood on foot and handcuffed them.

Officer McGee was the officer who attempted the traffic stop and led the ensuing chase. No more than three additional police cruisers combined participated the chase. Officer Salisbury was the source of our report. The incident happened at 11:11 p.m. according to th police blotter.

No one was injured.

As someone who came upon this while driving to Central to pick up my son I can say there were way more police involved. I appreciate that Officer Salisbury was bush doing his job and may not have been aware but we literally counted 15 police cars. At one point 7 of them in a row came flying past us....
