SAN ANGELO, TX – A soon to be ex-husband was arrested on Wednesday after police say he shot up a home in the College Hills area several times.
According to court documents, on Feb. 9 at 4:21 p.m., Michael Garfias, 38, was booked into the Tom Green County Detention Facility for deadly conduct by discharging a firearm.
Garfias was arrested after police say he shot at his estranged wife's house with a shotgun. The first incident occurred on Jan. 31. On this day Garfias is accused of driving to the home and firing a shot from a shotgun into the back of the victim's car.
After the first incident the victim adjusted her surveillance cameras to show a better view of possible threats. This led to her catching video of shooter during his next attempt.
Less than a week after the first shooting, the suspect returned, on Feb. 6, but this time focused on the actual residence. In the video a blue Toyota Tundra with aftermarket wheels pulls up to the home and fires a shotgun blast into the front of the home.
Police confirmed with the soon to be ex-wife that Garfias did own a shotgun. They were able to ID his vehicle with body cam footage from a traffic stop in Jun. 2020. This gave them enough evidence to get a warrant for his arrest.
Now Garfias is being held in the jail on a $60,000 bond. If he is released he can have no contact with any victims or witnesses.
