WATCH: U.S. Olympic Skier Nina O'Brien Suffers Horrific Injury in Gnarly Fall

 

BEIJING – A U.S. Olympic Skier took a tumble during the Giant Slalom on Monday that forced paramedics to carry her away on a stretcher.

Nina O'Brien is 24-year-old skier from San Francisco, CA. This was her first time representing team USA in the olympic games.

Before O'Brien's run a number of other athletes including her teammate, Mikaela Shiffrin, failed to complete the course.

A spokesperson for the U.S. Ski Team has confirmed that O'Brien is alert and responsive.

Currently the United States is in 14th place with only 3 silver medals.
