What in the heck is a 73 year old guy doing out in a park at 1:30 in the morning instead of being in bed in a nursing home somewhere ?
Are you kidding...at 73??? Unless a person has something physically or mentally wrong, there is no reason for them to be in a nursing home at 73. My dad just turned 80 and he meets the requirements from the FAA to have his pilot's license. He still pilots his own plane on occasion (most recently from South Dakota to Central Texas). I know several people who still lead very active lives at 73 and well beyond!
Doctor dingbat must live somewhere in the past. Most of the 80 year olds I know still drive quite well, are NOT in nursing homes and many of them use the computer, despite the fact they grew up without television. San Angelo should be a town where anybody anywhere at any time should be safe. Maybe it's this 46-yr-old jackhole that needs to be confined.
While criminology may attempt to explain the makeup of the criminal mind, it's strictly reactionary science. More focus should be on the predispositions of victims with it's core purposes spotlighting prevention. As with any predator/prey scenerio, there are prime movers in behavior and habit which cultivate either role respectively. The devil's in the details in regards to the poor choices which produced the outcome here, but there's likely a very interesting story behind the circumstances which led to a 73 year old man to a park after midnight. Most victims of crimes can indeed be completely innocent, and yet guilty of many wrongdoings.
Great assessment lares. The only situation which would exclude him from being guilty is if he was a homeless person staying at the park? Other than that possibility, I agree with you 100% that less than honorable intentions would lead a 73-year-old man to a park at this time of the night.

Is DingBat a total idiot or physcotic? I think either fits quite well.. Evidently only the criminals, druggies and other sordid types can go out after "curfew". Have you noticed that many in out country are all for "protect the guilty and screw the innocent!"
