San Angelo Teen Indicted for Death of Three Friends

SAN ANGELO, TX – The San Angelo teen allegedly responsible for the death of three teens claims he is innocent and will be fighting the case.

According to court documents, on Jun. 9, a Tom Green County grand jury indicted 17-year-old Antonio Gonzales on three counts of evading arrest causing death and three counts of manslaughter.

The indictment comes after a brutal crash involving Gonzales' car that killed three San Angelo teens: Alexis Sorola-Villamil, Donavan Byers, and Fabian Sanchez.

The crash occurred after officers attempted to stop Gonzales' car near Bryant and Ave. J. Gonzales did not stop and attempted to run from the officer.

Just a few blocks up the road at Ave. N. Gonzales ran a red light, was struck by a large truck, and a then hit a pole. This is where the three children died.

Since his arrest Gonzales has written a letter to his attorney asking him to make a motion for a bond reduction. He claims that his $180,000 bond is extremely high and that "it would be impossible for me to fight my case while incarcerated."

Gonzales also ensured his attorney in the letter that he is innocent and will be fighting the case.
