SAN ANGELO, TX – The wife of an accused child predator is speaking out in defense of her alleged perverted husband.
As previously reported, on May 24, Cory Clearman, 22, was arrested for sexual assault of a child. Here is the original report: San Angelo Man Accused Abducting and Assaulting Oklahoma Teen
Following the article the wife of Clearman, Stephanie Clearman, contacted San Angelo LIVE! demanding that her side of the story be told.
In the affidavit police accused Clearman of going to Oklahoma, picking up a 14-year-old child, bringing her back to San Angelo and sexually assaulting the child. All of these events took place on Apr. 9, over a month before the arrest.
Stephanie Clearman claims that this isn't the full story. She insists that five days prior to the child being picked up, the child told Cory that she was 18.
"The truth is for 5 days in a row she lied saying she was 18," stated Stephanie. "She asked him to come pick her up he didn't just go."
She went onto say her husband had no idea of her age and cooperated with the police after he found out the child's age. Stephanie said he cooperated "because he was told the truth about her age and felt sick."
The affiant said in the court document that Cory stated he picked the child up in Oklahoma knowing that the girl was a minor.
"She didn't chose to get in the car and stay in Angelo for three days before anything happened," stated Stephanie.
Clearman believes that her husband was wronged because he cooperated police and was still arrested. "The fact this man was lied to and then made out to be a monster," stated Stephanie. "He isn't."
It is unknown who's story is true but Stephanie is sure that "the truth will come out."
Clearman was released from jail two days after he was booked on a $35,000 bond.

. . . or is it beyond strange that this guy's wife is okay with her husband going to Oklahoma to pick up another woman to bring her home for sex, regardless of what he thought her age was?

PermalinkLet this be a lesson boys and girls... "She told me she was 18." doesn't fly. The legal system will continue to clown people who wish to blame their sexual misdeeds on children because the girl "wanted it and lied". As true as teenage sexuality is real, it is our duty to protect our greatest assets, our children, regardless of their fleshy desires.
