San Angelo Man Accused Abducting and Assaulting Oklahoma Teen

SAN ANGELO, TX – A San Angelo man was arrested Monday for allegedly sexually assaulting a child he abducted from Oklahoma.

According to court documents, on May 24, Cory Clearman was booked into the Tom Green County Jail for sexual assault of a child.

The arrest came after officers with the San Angelo Police Department were contacted by the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office in Oklahoma regarding a child that made an outcry of sexual assault.

The deputy informed the officer that a 14-year-old child was reported as a runaway on Apr. 5. The child was allegedly taken by Clearman from Oklahoma to San Angelo.

When Clearman and the child arrived in San Angelo, he allegedly took her to his home and raped her.

The child made it back home and made the outcry on Apr. 9. During the outcry she told officers that Clearman did have sex with her.

While in an interview with the police, Clearman admitted to everything he was accused of.

Clearman is currently in the Tom Green County Jail with a $35,000 bond.
