San Angelo Resident Catches Prowlers in His Backyard

Yesterday at 2:29 a.m., San Angelo Police Dispatch received a call complaining about a prowler in the 2300 Block of Carlton Way.  Officers arrived at the residence and found one male in the back yard of the residence being held at gunpoint by the owner, and another male hiding behind the fence of the residence in the alley.

The Officers identified the male in the alley as 22-year-old Ryan Stark, and the male in the back yard as Tyler Yarbro, also 22 years old.

The police investigation on scene revealed that both Stark and Yarbro had been drinking and were intoxicated.

Stark was arrested for Public Intoxication. Yarbro was arrested for Public Intoxication and Criminal Trespass for entering the backyard of the residence without permission.

Both were arrested without incident and transported to the Tom Green County Jail.

The downward spiral continues............ Trying to fix this epidemic of loser young adults is like trying to fix a leaky pipe with duct tape.

They're just YOUNG adults... everyone makes mistakes, right? *gag*
First of all, you negative, judgmental ****...these are two good friends of mine and they were just *** around like you hypocrites probably did when you were younger. They're honestly pretty good guys. Soo stop talkin ***. No one got hurt, no one was killed, it wasn't gang related, they aren't "prowlers" or a danger to anyone. Sooo..calm your *** guys.

Kristen, If you read this website at all, aside from THIS specific news story - this city is riddled with an abundance of ignorant, young individuals. Sure... your friends might be pretty good guys - but the citizens of this city are sick and tired of mindless BS. Maybe they were just drinking and having fun and wandered into the wrong backyard... but it doesn't excuse their irresponsibility. It only throws them into the same pool as the rest of the intoxicated, mischievous, young adults that have made headlines here recently. The more that are added to this list, the less sympathy this city is going to have on any of them. Your friends are 22. They graduated high school 4 years ago. They SHOULD be past this stage in life. As Big Daddy said, they're seriously lucky that this home owner didn't open fire. That homeowner didn't know that your friends were "pretty good guys."

A few years ago, a resident of this area was visiting San Antonio, a relative, there. This kid went out (drinking/not drinking, who knows) and came back to the block, and entered the wrong house for some reason. The homeowner was terrified, armed, and not only threatened him -- shot him dead. So, though these two guys are probably fine upstanding young men, the person whose yard or home they are invading might not know that, might think they have intentions not so positive. Luckily, this homeowner didn't fire on these men, but some other homeowner might. So, it's just good for everyone to not jump someone's fence or enter their home or wake them up from a sound sleep and TERRIFY them into grabbing their gun. Emotions are high at night, people are drunk, people are tired, it's dark. Things happen. They were awfully lucky. I hope when someone enters your property, those who are friends of these guys -- that you immediately know their intentions and see no reason to be alarmed...but you really DON'T know, do you?

Kristen, maybe your good friends should be sure and wear glow in the dark signs saying "DON"T SHOOT WE ARE JUST DRUNK GUYS HAVING FUN WE MEAN YOU NO HARM"
Kristen, the use of foul language (even if it's just implied with asterisks) isn't very lady like -- but then I can't imagine these two drunken geniuses being too picky about their female company. The fact that you see this as no big deal is very telling about your own mentality. No, wandering onto people's private property in a drunken stupor isn't normal. If I see a couple of losers stumbling around my yard, my harsh judgement is the least of their problems.

Oh, Lares... it must have been page administrators that went in and censored her filth. PS - I'm pretty sure Kristen's not a lady. If you had facebook, you'd see that more than likely, she's the male half of her relationship :)
Judge: well, I was going to punish these two trespassers but I was just informed by the mayor and the Lieutenant governor that they are good friends of Kristen sorrels, thus leading us to believe they are good people who were just goofing around. Case dismissed, defendants are free to go, and again, our apologies to Kristen for the mix-up. Homeowner: but judge they broke into my backyard and..... Judge: stop it homeowner, how dare you, they are friends of Kristen, do you not know what that means? They were just playing around. But now that I know they are Kristen's friends, you are lucky you didn't shoot them because I would have no choice but charge you with murder or attempted murder of two sweet and funny guys based simply on the fact they are friends of Kristen! Look at you homeowner! you disgust me, do you honestly believe that a friend of Kristen Sorrel would harm you? Homeowner: but your honor, we were in fear for our lives... Judge: Shut up, how could you have been in fear of your life. These are Kristen's friends, they are just sweet harmless teddy bears. One more derogatory word out of you homeowner and you are going to jail.. Homeowner: but Judge... Judge: that's enough homeowner, bailiff! take mr homeowner into custody for disrespectful thoughts about Kristen's friends.
Mayor: ladies and gentlemen, we have just released the two drunks, I mean Kristen's good friends. On behalf of the citizens of san angelo, we would like to officially apologize to the two young men who were just goofing around. For we didn't know they were Kristen's friends. The police chief would now like to say a few things, chief! Police chief: thank you mayor, and again I want to reiterate to Kristen how sorry we are to have arrested these hoodlums; I mean your fine and funny friends. We do not want this to happen again so effective today, Kristen will be the official judge of character of all males that are about to be arrested; before a san angelo police officer makes an arrest, they must check in with Kristen to check to see if she knows them or not. If she knows them, they will be released on the spot. This will free up jail space for those unfortunate hoodlums and criminals that don't know Kristen.
San Angelo Live seems to attract more then its fair share of pompous asses posting BS from behind the safety and comfort of their computer. I enjoy this electronic rag letting me keep up with current events in my hometown. I don't know these kids, don't understand the mentality of calling the law rather than simply yelling "Get off my lawn or I am calling the Law." The rest of you, Get a Life or throw the first stone already.
Better get use to those bars boys and I don't mean the one you got drunk in! Stumbling drunk across someone's front yard might not be too bad, but roaming around in a fenced in backyard at 2:00 a.m.is a good way to get shot or at least arrested, whoops, you already know that now.
I'm betting alcohol isn't their friend. Hopefully this isn't the start of a lifetime of drunken incidents for them. With any luck a short time in jail and some bad press will be the last we hear of them.

Sorry that the comments of residents displeases you, David. But these days, hollering at someone to get off your lawn or out of your yard these days isn't the smartest thing to do. You do not know the intentions of midnight visitors, and you could get yourself shot by aggressively posturing as an "aggrieved homeowner" to strangers.

As a cop once told me about carrying a realistic toy gun in my car, visible to others: "Brandishing can get you killed." If these guys had displayed guns, they'd probably have been shot. If an angry homeowner steps out and waves a gun, that also could intimidate someone to shoot them out of fear. This is the wild wild west these days in San Angelo.
