Teacher Arrested After Years Long Relationship With Minor Student

WHITEWRIGHT, TX – A former Tomball ISD teacher has been charged with continuous sexual abuse after she had allegedly begun a relationship with a student.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the inappropriate relationship began back in 2018. The teacher, identified as Marka Bodine, sustained a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old male student for more than two in a half years.

In addition to the non-consensual sexual encounters, Bodine sent the teen hundreds of sexually explicit photographs and videos.

Bodine was ordered to wear a GPS monitoring device after posting a $100,000 bond.

Bodine's father, Bart Bodine, currently serves as a member of the Whitewright City Council. He also served as a teacher for many years before retiring and running for public office.
