Winter Breaks Begin For San Angelo ISD Friday

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – Winter break officially kicks off for San Angelo Independent School District Friday.

Elementary schools will release at 11:35 am, middle schools will release at 12:45 pm, and high s and alternative campuses will release at 1:30 pm. 

San Angelo ISD offices will return Monday, January 4th at 8:00 am. Students will return Tuesday, January 5th. 

"Have a happy holiday and a joyous new year!" said SAISD in a social media statement.

It's a waste of public resources to go though all that has to happen before the school day begins along with all that happens while school is in session only to be "in school" for merely the few morning hours.  Not to mention the families who are responsible for getting and picking up students each school day.

This seems more like a "feel good" policy which reduces what is a comparatively short amount time to educate a child K-12 effectively.

Too much time off from "structured education" means less learning for our community.
