WATCH: Violent Fugitive Felon Arrested After Standoff with Police

SAN ANGELO, TX – San Angelo Police arrested a violent felony fugitive Thursday afternoon after being dispatched to the 700 block of N. Van Buren.

San Angelo Police Department Public Information Officer Tracy Piatt-Fox at the scene said officers were dispatched around 2:30 p.m. for an activated CPS button.

Officers learned upon arrival that the wanted felon was inside the residence near Austin Elementary School with two children and an adult woman.

Piatt-Fox identified the felon as 31-year-old Adam Pounds who had outstanding warrants for continuous family violence and there was a handgun in the residence.

Watch video from the scene:

Police were able to establish communication with Pounds and the woman and children were allowed to leave the residence without incident.

Officers had to breach the front door of the residence.  They made contact with Pounds who was barricaded inside the residence.

He was removed from the residence and taken into custody without further incident.  Pounds had two outstanding warrants from Tom Green County.

Reporters on the scene say there was a drone flying in the area during the incident that didn't belong to the police or the media and police may be searching for the person operating the drone at a crime scene which is against the law.
