New Details of Laughlin AFB Aircraft Flyover of San Angelo Thursday

DEL RIO, Texas— As a “thank you” to first responders, law enforcement, medical officials and the local community for their efforts to combat the spread of COVID-19, Laughlin Air Force Base will perform a flyover in Del Rio, Eagle Pass and San Angelo, Texas, on Thursday, May 21, 2020. 

Tomorrow’s flying formation will consist of a T-6 Texan II, T-38C Talon, and T-1A Jayhawk. 

“As a community, our ability to remain united and proactive with adhering to preventative care measures during this unforeseen situation has truly played a significant role in our ability to contain this virus,” says Colonel Lee Gentile, 47th Flying Training Wing Commander. “It is a privilege to honor our local heroes, because every day they are on the front lines, protecting us from this invisible enemy.”

Members can expect to see this dissimilar formation from key city landmarks and medical facilities between 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
