A red Mistubishi SUV has rolled over just north of the county line on U.S. 277 south of Christoval.
Texas DPS, Tom Green County Sheriff's Deputies and Christoval Volunteer Fire Department are tending to the scene, and a San Angelo Fire Department Medic was seen leaving the scene without its emergency lights on.
Injuries have not yet been reported as a result of the crash. There doesn't appear to be any other vehicles involved in the crash.
The road is wet from recent rain. Traffic was being diverted for approximately 30 minutes, but is now flowing normally around the crash site.The car lies approximately 10 yards east of the highway.
Update 3:24 p.m.
Home Motors has arrived on scene to tow the vehicle. Conditions outside are cold, wet and windy, and pea-sized hail is falling from the sky mixed with raindrops. The Home Motors guy doesn't have a jacket.
Update 4:14 p.m.
A DPS Trooper on scene said, "The driver was driving at a speed unsafe for...the wet road conditions. The driver lost control, exited the roadway, struck the sign and caused it to roll half a roll."
The passenger was transported to the hospital, however the driver was not, he said. There were no injuries reported, however the passenger was pregnant, so she was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure. She is 24 years old.
A citation will be issued for unsafe speed, the Trooper said.
